What is Gonadorelin
Gonadorelin is another name for gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). It is a synthetic decapeptide prepared using solid phase peptide synthesis. GnRH is responsible for the release of follicle stimulating hormone and leutinizing hormone from the anterior pitutitary.
Gonadorelin primarily stimulates the synthesis and release of luteinizing hormone (LH) from the anterior pituitary gland. Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) production and release is also increased by gonadorelin, but to a lesser degree. In prepubertal females and some gonadal function disorders, the FSH response may be greater than the LH response.This agent can be used in treatment of hypothalamic amenorrhea and evaluation of hypothalamic/pituitary function.
Gonadorelin It is also used in veterinary medicine as a treatment for cattle with cystic ovarian disease.

In women, FSH stimulates the production of oestrogen and the development of eggs in the ovaries. LH stimulates the ovaries to release an egg (ovulation). In men, LH stimulates the testicles to produce the hormones TEST and FSH stimulates the testicles to produce sperm.
Gonadoreli n is given by injection to check whether the pituitary gland is producing LH and FSH in the correct levels. This can help in the diagnosis of various hormonal disorders, including infertility, delayed puberty and hypogonadism.
